Joint Talk by the Philosophy and Critical Thinking Society and the English Literature Society: Ecofeminism in Ursula K. Le Guin’s Fiction
A joint talk organized by the Philosophy and Critical Thinking Society and the English Literature Society was held on 10 December 2025 in the Faculty of Science and Letters, AS102, with strong participation from students and staff. In the event, Dr. Pınar Süt Güngör, faculty member of the Department of English Language and Literature, delivered a presentation titled “Ecofeminism in Ursula K. Le Guin’s Fiction.”
In her talk, Dr. Güngör began by introducing the definition, historical foundations, and major strands of ecofeminism. She then examined ecofeminist themes through two selected works by Ursula K. Le Guin, offering an in-depth literary analysis. The session attracted considerable interest, and the dynamic Q&A segment allowed for fruitful discussion with attendees.
At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters, Prof. Dr. KasımMüminoğlu, presented Dr. Pınar Süt Güngör with a certificate of appreciation.
The talk concluded successfully, contributing to interdisciplinary dialogue and fostering critical perspectives among participants.
