31.10.2024 11:37

The aim of the department is to train students who are competent in English language, literature, and culture, possess a high level of English language proficiency, and have strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. These students will be equipped with the capacity to conduct scientific research in these fields and have the ability to share their knowledge with those around them. In an increasingly globalized world, the importance and necessity of knowing a foreign language, especially English, become more evident each day. The department offers its students significant job opportunities and career prospects after graduation, often even before graduation. Furthermore, the advantages of knowing a foreign language in both the public and private sectors are a clear indication that the department will continue to be preferred by students.

The department aims to produce qualified individuals with analytical thinking skills who can conduct scientific studies in academic and social fields through research-based education. It seeks to become a leading department by conducting innovative research in these areas.

The English Language and Literature Department provides students with knowledge that will enhance their general cultural level and help develop their reading and comprehension skills. This includes courses on English history and culture, Greek and Norse mythology, cultural theories, media studies, and different historical periods of English literature, including poetry, theater, and novels. The department aims for its graduates to make meaningful contributions to the field.
