Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun Discussed in the Department Book Club
The Book Club, organized by the English Literature Community and coordinated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Pınar Süt Güngör, held its latest meeting on 1 December 2025. The session took place in the Dean’s Meeting Hall, where participants engaged in an insightful discussion of Nobel Prize–winning author Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel Klara and the Sun.
During the meeting, attendees explored the novel’s multi-layered treatment of artificial intelligence, humanity, emotions, and ethics. The thematic depth of the text, its narrative techniques, and character portrayals were examined from various critical perspectives.
The Book Club continues to provide an enriching academic and social environment that enhances students’ critical thinking and textual analysis skills
