Book Club Event by the Department of English Language and Literature
The Department of English Language and Literature held the first Book Club event of the 2025–2026 Fall Semester. The session, coordinated by Dr. Pınar Süt Güngör, focused on The Year of the Flood by the acclaimed Canadian author Margaret Atwood.
During the discussion, students explored Atwood’s dystopian vision through themes of nature, religion, environmental awareness, and humanity, while examining the author’s ecofeminist perspective. The Book Club aims to enhance students’ literary analysis skills, foster critical thinking, and create an engaging intellectual space for sharing ideas in English.
