"Women are Strong, Violence is Weakness" Panel Held
The panel titled "Women are Strong, Violence is Weakness," organized in partnership with the Psychology Society, Youth Office, Ultraslan Uni Alparslan, MAUN Quality Society, IHA TEK, Archery Society, Young Accumulation Society, Young Red Crescent, Seljuk and Malazgirt Application and Research Center, and Muş Alparslan UniGFB, was held at Muş Alparslan University with a large turnout.
At this event, attended by numerous students and university staff, participants aimed to raise social awareness by carrying photos of women and infants who have been victims of violence.
The panel opened with presentations by distinguished academics addressing the extent of violence against women and proposing solutions:
Research Assistant Murat Argış: In his talk titled Teaching Gender Roles Before Adulthood and Violence, he discussed how the gender roles taught to individuals before adulthood affect their tendencies toward violence.
Research Assistant Merve Hançer: In her presentation on Women in the Cycle of Violence: Reflections of Violence Against Women in Literature, she explored the types of violence against women and analyzed how this violence is depicted in literature.
Dr. Filiz Altıparmak Ercan: In her talk titled Domestic Violence, she evaluated violence against women within the family from different perspectives.
Assoc. Prof. Ayşin Çetinkaya Büyükbodur: Speaking on Femicide and Prevention in the Context of Gender Inequality, she examined the relationship between femicides and gender inequality and discussed potential solutions.
Dr. Mehmet Fatih Işık: In his presentation titled Violence Against Women and Solution Proposals in Various Dimensions, he deeply analyzed different aspects of violence against women and offered various solutions to prevent it.
Following the panel, a march was organized to honor the victims of violence and raise social sensitivity. During the march, participants held photos, drawing attention to the devastating effects of violence against women. They sent messages of solidarity in the fight against violence towards women, calling on all sectors of society to take responsibility in this struggle.
